Women's Golf Competes in Final Invite of the Regular Season

FORT WORTH, Texas – After nearly a month off from competition the Green Wave golf team is set to return to action in the Bruzzy, hosted by North Texas.

The 6277-yard, par 72 Waterchase course is located in Fort Worth, Texas.

Tulane is one of 14 teams in the invite this weekend which includes eight ranked opponents in North Texas (46), Baylor (17), Iowa State (37), Oklahoma (49), TCU (30), Texas (13), Texas Tech (21) and the defending National Champions Oklahoma State (7).

Junior Sandra Vazquez has been a consistent leader for the Green Wave having finished with the best card in three of the four invites Tulane has competed in this season. Vazquez is coming of a 36th place finish at the Briards Creek Invitational.

Freshman Carla Bernat has had the best overall finish four Tulane this season with her eighth-place performance at the Trinity Forest Invitational back in March. Bernat competed in the Augusta National Women's Amateur last weekend, a highly touted honor in golf.

The Bruzzy will be the final invitational of the regular season as the Wave will head to the American Athletic Conference Championship in Pinehurst, North Carolina next weekend.
