Five members of the Green Wave also earned individual ITA Scholar Athlete recognition.
NEW ORLEANS – For the third time under head coach Maria Brito the Tulane University women's tennis team earned All-Academic Team honors this week from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
In addition to their team achievement, Green Wave student-athletes Kristen Borland, Sean Mullen, Lily Walther, Lahari Yelamanchili and Jiayun Zhu earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition.
"This team continues to excel in the classroom and on the court," Brito said. "They have worked so hard all year long to achieve this award and we couldn't be more proud of each of them."
In order to qualify as an ITA All-Academic team, collegiate programs must have a combined grade point average of 3.2 or above. To be considered as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, individuals must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year.
