AUSTIN, TX – The No. 1 Texas women's tennis team defeated Tulane 5-0 Sunday afternoon at the Texas Tennis Center in Austin.

Texas improved to 3-0 overall this spring, while Tulane dropped to 0-2.

The Green Wave's No. 2 doubles team of Adelaide Lavery and Kristen Borland led 5-4 in their match over UT's Nicole Rivkin and Taisiya Pachkaleva, but it went unfinished due to the Longhorns' wins at 1 (6-1) and 3 (6-3).

Texas picked up singles victories at Nos. 1, 3, 4 and 5. Nos. 2 and 6 were unfinished, however, the Green Wave's Brooke Theis rebounded in the latter, leading her second set 3-1 after dropping the first, 6-4.

Tulane will kick off its 2023 home slate on Saturday with a match against Southern University at 1 p.m. at the City Park Tennis Center.
