
Tulane Chasing First Men’s & Women’s AAC Cross Country Titles

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Tulane University cross country will run to claim its first conference title as it competes in the 2023 American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Greenville, North Carolina. The Green Wave men will run in the 8k race while the women will take part in the 6k race at Overton's Lake Kristi.
The meet will open with the men's 8k race at 9:15 a.m ET/8:15 a.m. CT followed by the women's 6k race at 10 a.m./9 a.m. Fans can watch the races live on ESPN+ and keep track of live results HERE.
The Wave finished fifth overall in the men's race last season with Makuvire and Aaron Gilliam earning All-Conference selection by finishing fourth and 13th individually. The Tulane women recorded their best finish since joining the AAC by landing fourth overall behind an All-Conference performance by Mackenzie Callahan.
Running for Tulane in the men's race will be Makuvire, Arturs Lapins, Illia Kunin, Alan Deogracias III, Ryan Adkins, Juan Giron, and Jack Jennings.
In the women's race the Green Wave will be represented by Macy Turcotte, Lili Grant, Sophia McNerney, Reese Ragland, Danna Diaz, Maddy Luscombe, Paula Vaquera, Lily Bell, Gemma Rebollo.
Last time out, the Green Wave competed in the Arturo Barrios Invitational at Texas A&M. The men finished first in the meet three top-10 finishes by Makuvire, Kunin, and Jennings. Rebollo posted a 12th-place finish in the women's race to help Tulane land 13th in the meet.
