Women's Tennis Advances Two Duos to Round of 16

BATON ROUGE, La. - Women's tennis advanced two duos to the round of 16 on Saturday after being knocked out in the singles main draw.
The Wave struggled early on in the day, with three losing their singles matches in the Round of 32. Cora Barber was the only one to advance on to the Round of 16 after defeating Paige Wise of Northwestern State University 6-0, 6-2, but fell just short of quarterfinals.
Tulane rallied back in the second half of the day, advancing two of the duos to the Round of 16 set to take place on Sunday. Kristen Borland and Lahari Yelamanchili defeated Annalisa Smith and Enya Ratkic of UAB 8-3, while Cora Barber and Lulu Zhu defeated Rachel Krzyzak and Andrea Nova of Ole Miss 8-3 as well.
The next round of doubles will commence on Sunday at 2pm CST.Â
