
No. 22 Bowling Ranked Eighth Following First Day At Ladyjack Classic

Kenosha, Wisconsin– The No. 22 nationally ranked Tulane University bowling team had a strong opening day of the Motiv Ladyjack Classic, held at Sheridan Lanes, in recording a mark of 3-2 record against the strong competition and totaling 4851 pins. The pin total places the Green Wave in eighth overall.
The team is averaging 194 pins per game and topped 900 pins in all five matches. They also had over 1,000 pins in one match. Jacksonville State leads the field of 16 with 5323 pins following the five baker matches.
Tulane started the day with a 1007-910 loss to reigning NCAA Champion and the No. 1 ranked team in the country in Vanderbilt. The individual game scores were 178-176, 191-222, 170-206, 197-202 and 174-201.
The Green Wave fell in the second match of the day to Nebraska 1097-948. The individual game scores were 191-201, 181-233, 202-186, 202-232 and 163-245
Tulane got back to the winning ways in the third match with a 967-888 victory over Valparaiso. The individual game scores were 202-193, 171-209, 199-174, 203-154 and 192-158.
The fourth match was a 1096-927 victory over Newman. The individual game scores were 178-199, 205-147, 228-198, 267-187 and 218-196.
The program completed the day with a 940-933 win over Youngstown State. The individual games scores were 182-155, 190-179, 200-204, 229-234 and 139-161.
The second day of the tournament, for traditional play, sees Tulane starting the day with Carthage in lanes 9-10 in the sixth match. In the second match of the day, and the seventh match overall, the program takes on McKendree in lanes 21-22. In the third match of the day, and the eighth overall, Tulane and Marian square off in lanes 17-18. The fourth match of the day, and the ninth overall, sees Tulane and Lewis competing against each other in lanes 5-6. The fifth match of the day, and the 10th overall, is against Stephen F. Austin in lanes 5-6.
