Tulane Finishes Seventh in AAC Tournament
Apr 19, 2023 | Women's Golf
BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Tulane carded the third-best round of the day with a team card of 3-under par to finish seventh in the American Athletic Conference Tournament.
No. 26 SMU dominated the field, finishing 25-under par to take the team title.
"Our final round was more like what this group is capable of to finish out the conference championship," head coach Stew Burke said. "We've had a solid season and it's obviously disappointing the place where we did on the leaderboard, but most importantly we've potentially got more golf left this season and our focus will be on that preparation."
Bernat returned to her truest form by shooting a 68 in the final round of the tournament. The sophomore finished tied for 17th with a total card 2-over par through the 54 holes.
Senior Sandra Vazquez held the second-best card on the team and placed 26th in the loaded field.
Cleo Liu and Miriam Emmert both went even on the day to finish 34th and 36th, respectively.
Carlota Palacios went 5-over on Wednesday to finish 49th but did not count towards the team's total card.
