Bernat Set for Second Straight NCAA Regional

ATHENS, Ga. - Carla Bernat is poised to compete in the NCAA Women's Golf Regional in Athens, Georgia beginning Monday morning.
Bernat will be among six individuals and 12 teams competing in the NCAA's Athens Regional attempting to advance to the NCAA Championships. The 54-hole tournament will be contested from Monday-Wednesday at the UGA course. The top-5 teams and the low individual that is not a member of those teams will earn bids to the national championships, which will be held May 19-24 at Grayhawk Golf Course in Scottsdale, Ariz.
This is the second straight year Bernat will compete in a NCAA Regional, with Tulane having competed in the Stillwater Regional as a team last season.
The number 15 ranked player in NCAA Division I women's golf according to Golfstat, Bernat has posted a 70.65 average score across 11 tournaments this season in advance of the NCAA Regionals. Bernat was the conference player of the month for October 2022 and captured player of the week honors in The American on March 21.
Bernat took home a pair of first-place medals in the month of October, shooting a combined 11-under par in three tournaments. At the Florida State Match-Up on March 17-19, Bernat shot a 214 (-13) and was one of just four golfers to finish under par as she bested four other Golfstat Top 100 ranked players. She finishes the season as the highest ranked Tulane women's golfer in the history of the program.
The Castellon, Spain native was most recently selected to compete for Team International in the 2023 Arnold Palmer Cup.
The sophomore tees off at 9:53 a.m. ET/8:53 CT with individuals from Penn State and Oklahoma.
