
Women’s Basketball Releases 2023-24 Non-Conference Schedule

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane's women's basketball team and head coach Lisa Stockton released the complete 2023-24 non-conference schedule this morning.
"We are very excited to get the season started with eight home non-conference games including some local teams we haven't had on our schedule in a while," Coach Stockton explained. "The non-conference schedule is highlighted with two tough ACC matchups against Virginia and Virginia Tech in the Cayman Islands Classic. Virginia Tech was a No. 1 seed and a Final Four Team last season, while Virginia also qualified for post-season play."
The program starts with an exhibition game against Loyola University Louisiana at Devlin Fieldhouse on Oct. 30 at 6 p.m.
The team opens the regular season with a contest against Stetson on Nov. 6 at a yet to be announced time.
The program keeps the homestand going and takes on Nicholls on Nov. 8 at 6 p.m.
Tulane plays their final home game during the month of November with a 6 p.m. game against Prairie View A&M on Nov. 14.
The team then hits the road with a trip to Macon, Georgia for a contest against Mercer on Nov. 19 at a yet to be determined time.
The holiday weekend sees the program head to Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands for the Inaugural Women's Basketball Cayman Islands Classic. The program squares off against Virginia on Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. and Virginia Tech on Nov. 25 at 10 a.m. at John Gray Gymnasium.
The team's road trip continues on December 1 with a trip to Springfield, Missouri to take on Missouri State at a yet to announced time.
The program returns home to Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse on Dec. 6 to play host to the University of New Orleans at 6 p.m.
The team's homestand continues with Howard University coming to town on Dec. 10 for a 2 p.m. contest.
The program hosts the Tulane Holiday Classic from Dec. 20 – 21. The team will play against Little Rock on Dec. 20 at 12 p.m. The contest on Dec. 21 will be either against Duquesne or Maine at 11 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.
The American Athletic Conference schedule will be announced later in the fall when released by the league office.
The Tulane women's basketball team returns eight players from last season's roster for the 2023-24 season including 2023 American Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team selection Kyren Whittington. The Green Wave have added two freshmen, 6'3" center Lilybeth Ba and 5'8" point guard Joy Madison-Key along with 6'2" graduate transfer forward Hannah Pratt and 5'6" graduate transfer guard Kaylah Rainey. The program was selected for postseason play in the WNIT last season for the third consecutive year and went 18-14 overall. Coach Stockton also became the all-time winningest women's basketball coach in the state of Louisiana during the campaign and was elected to the CUSA Hall of Fame over the summer.
