
Beach Volleyball Adds Seven Newcomers to 2023-24 Roster

Head Beach Volleyball coach, Eyal Zimet, added six freshman and one graduate transfer to the 2023-24 beach volleyball roster.Â

Joining the Green Wave will be graduate transfer, Trinity Jackson, along with freshmen, Amelia Mullen, Lauren Mann, Tara Gaspar, Bella Griffin, Skylar Ensign, and Tawny Ensign.Â

Jackson comes to Tulane as a graduate transfer from the University of New Orleans. During the 2023 beach volleyball season, Jackson competed at the number two spot for the Privateers and posted 28-7 record. In her time at UNO, she also competed on the indoor volleyball team. She is pursuing a Masters in Sports Studies at Tulane in hopes of coaching beach volleyball at the collegiate level after graduation.Â

Mullen comes to Tulane from San Diego, California. She was a letter winner in beach volleyball at Torrey Pines High School. While at Torrey Pines, she earned Most Valuable Player honors her senior season. She also won the BVNE National Championship in 2022 while playing for the Wave Volleyball Club. Mullen plans on studying Design with career aspirations of starting her own business.Â

Mann comes to New Orleans from North Richland Hills, Texas. She lettered four years in beach volleyball and indoor volleyball for Richland High School. While at Richland, she was named Academic All-District all four seasons. Mann is majoring in Molecular Biology with hopes of becoming a psychiatrist or dermatologist after graduation.Â

Gaspar comes to Tulane from Valencia, California. She lettered four years in beach volleyball earning two at Palisades Charter High School and two at Valencia High School. At Palisades Charter, she was she was named second team All-District and to the Falcon Volleyball Classic All-Tournament team. At Valencia, she earned All-Foothill League second-team honors and was awarded the coaches award. She plans on majoring in Psychology with career aspirations of becoming a sports psychologist.

Griffin arrives in New Orleans from San Diego, California. She lettered in both beach volleyball and indoor volleyball at La Jolla Country Day School. At La Jolla Country Day, she earned the Player's Leadership Award. She also led her team to the 2021 16U BVNE National Championship. Like Gaspar, she plans on majoring in Psychology with career aspirations of becoming a sports psychologist.Â

Skylar Ensign arrives to New Orleans with her sister Tawny from Newport Beach, California. They both were two-year letter winners, in beach volleyball at Mater Dei High School. They helped Mater Dei post an 11-2 record in 2023 and lead their team to the CIF semi-finals. They were the Beach Trinity League Pairs Champions in 2022 and 2023 and named co-MVP both years. Skylar was Mater Dei's MVP in 2022 and 2023. Skylar plans on majoring in Communication with hopes of becoming a sports broadcaster in the future and Tawny plans on majoring in Business Management with hopes of pursuing a career in real estate development or finance.

Coach Zimet on the 2023-24 incoming class: "With the addition of our driven 2023 class, we are expecting to add versatility, depth and intensify the competition for every minute on the sand. We are super excited to have this special group of competitive, hard-working and brilliant young ladies who are as passionate about beach volleyball as we are, join our Green Wave family!
