
Golf Finishes 10th at The Sam Golden Invitational

Corinth, TX - Tulane golf concluded competition at The Sam Golden Invitational, hosted by University of North Texas, on Tuesday, finishing in 10th place.
Hitting similar marks of 288-287-289 in all three rounds, the Green Wave finished even with a total score of 864. The University of Houston took first place, carding a 268 in the final round to bring their tally to a total of 816.
Senior Cleo Liu climbed 15 spots on the leader board after shooting 3-under in the final round to land her in a final position tying for 22nd. Freshman Julia Sánchez Morales finished not too far behind at T30 after shooting 1-under in the third round.
Tulane led the entire tournament in hitting on par (178), with senior Miriam Emmert leading the effort for the Wave as she shot 39 holes on par. Emmert also recorded the sole Eagle for Tulane on hole six in round three as she finished the tournament tied for 45th place.
Junior Matilde Innocenti finished tied for 56th after shooting 5-over and junior Luna Xu finished in 70th.
"We fought hard and learned a lot this week," said head coach Andrea Kaelin. "While it wasn't the result we wanted, there is a lot to build from. They played with intention and patience and put together three steady rounds. When we clean up the little things, this team will excel. I'm so excited to see them grow this season!"
Tulane has a week off before heading to South Carolina for the Lady Paladin, hosted by Furman University.
