
Men's Tennis Wraps Up Weekend in Destin

On the third and final day at the Battle at the Beach Collegiate Team Tennis Invitational, the Green Wave's four representatives played singles and doubles pairs from Middle Tennessee State and GA State.
Tulane's first doubles pair, consisting of freshman Hady Elkordy and senior Fynn Kuenkler, were defeated by MTSU's Karim Al-Amin and Shu Matsuoka, 8-6.
The Green Wave's second doubles pair, graduate Benji Jacobson and junior Luc Hoeijmans, took down MTSU's Igor Mandou Berranger and Kristian Thomas, 8-1.
In singles competition, Tulane went up against GA State's student-athletes.
Playing in the first position, Kuenkler was defeated by GA State's Baran Soyler in three sets (6-2 5-7, 0-6).
The Green Wave's second position consisted of Hoeijmans. He took down GA State's Gabriele Datei in set scores of 6-3 and 6-4.
Jacobson was defeated by GA State's Edward Tymes playing in the third position (6-3 and 6-2).
Elkordy was also defeated by GA State in three sets (7-5, 2-6, and 6-7).
Tulane will continue their fall 2023 slate when they travel to Princeton, NJ Friday to participate in the Farnsworth Invitational.
