
Tulane Beats McNeese in Spring Season Opener at Home

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane women's tennis team cruised to a 5-2 win over visiting McNeese State Saturday afternoon at City Park Tennis Center.
The Olive and Blue improved to 1-0 with the win, while McNeese dropped its first tilt of the season (2-1).
The Green Wave began the afternoon by closing out two doubles matches. The tandem of Mackenzie Clark and Cora Barber won 6-2, followed by Kristen Borland and Delanie Tribby, in her debut collegiate doubles matchup, winning 6-3 to clinch the doubles point.
Kristen Borland secured the first doubles point in just under an hour after winning a 6-1, 6-1 matchup. Mackenzie Clark would secure the third point for the Wave (6-0, 6-4), with Lahari Yelamanchili winning her 6-1, 6-2 match only a minute later to clinch the win for Tulane. After playing out the rest of the matches, Tulane added one more win after Cora Barber forced the third set against McNeese Maria Wang Martinex to bring the final tally to 5-2.
Tulane is back in action Thursday at 2 p.m. when ULL visits City Park. The match will be the Ragin' Cajuns spring season opener.
