Women's Tennis Completes First Sweep of the Year

New Orleans - Women's tennis (2-0) completed their first sweep of the year against Southern University (0-1) Saturday.

In doubles, the duo of Lahari/Russell won a quick 6-3 set in just over half an hour, and Borland/Tribby came right behind two minutes later on court three to clinch the doubles point for the Wave.

Freshman Delanie Tribby won her collegiate singles debut on court six to grab the first singles point for Tulane. Lahari Yelamanchili and Brooke Theis finished seven minutes later on courts one and five to clinch the win for the Wave. After two more wins on court three and four from Barber and Zhu, Russell would finish the sweep for Tulane on court two after coming from behind to secure the second set.

The Green Wave returns to City Park on Sunday to take on Northwestern State at 1 pm.
