
Tulane Falls to Miami, 4-3

The Green Wave men's tennis squad (0-2) closes out their weekend at the ITA Kickoff in Tucson, AZ with a close 4-3 loss to Miami (5-1).
Tulane showcased a formidable performance by securing the doubles point. Luka Petrovic and Billy Suarez clinched the initial victory on court two, defeating Miami's Adrien Burdet and Martin Katz with a score of 6-3. Following suit on court three, Benji Jacobson and Fynn Kuenkler triumphed over Miami's Sam Baumgartner and Nacho Serra Sanchez, claiming the point with a 6-5 victory. Closing out the doubles and sealing a sweep for the Green Wave, Alex Bancila and Luc Hoeijmans overcame Vladislav Melnic and Antonio Prat with a score of 6-4.
The Green Wave started off strong in singles play. Playing on court one, Billy Suarez had a dominant win over Miami's Vladislav Melnic (6-0, 6-2) to make it 2-0. Then, Tulane's Luka Petrovic caught another point for the Green Wave when he defeated Antonio Prat (7-6 (4), 6-1).
Despite the strong start, the Green Wave couldn't maintain their momentum in the remaining singles matches, ultimately succumbing to a 4-3 defeat.
The Green Wave will be back in action on Saturday when they take on Rice and Southern in their season home opener. The match against Rice is set to take place at 10am.
