Petrovic, Hoeijmans Battle in Sunday’s AAC Fall Championship Finals

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane's Luka Petrovic and Luc Hoeijmans will be part of two finals on Sunday at the American Athletic Conference Fall Championships in Houston.
Both will be in the 9 a.m. doubles final against Vasco Prata and Matian Iturbe of Charlotte, who entered the bracket as the top seed in a contest that will be carried on ESPN+.
Petrovic and Hoeijmans, the No. 3 seeds, got through to the match with a thrilling 4-6, 7-6 (4), (13-11) win over second-seeded Arthus de la Bassetiere and Kabeer Kapasi of Rice in Saturday's semifinal.
Hoeijmans will also be in the singles backdraw championship at 12:30 p.m. against de la Bassetiere after beating Emir Sendogan of Rice 6-3, 7-6 (4) on Saturday.
Petrovic dropped a heartbreaker to Alex Okonkwo of Tulsa in the singles semifinal round as the latter prevailed 1-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3.
The American Individual Championships are being conducted for the first time in 2024 as the conference determines men's and women's champions in singles and doubles. The singles and doubles champions will represent the American Athletic Conference at the ITA Conference Masters Championships November 7-10 in Rome, Georgia.

Tulane was also in singles action in Birmingham on Saturday, with those results below. The doubles team of Asaf Friedler and Charlie Burdell picked up a 6-1 doubles victory.
