Stolakis Named Southern Queens All-Tournament MVP

BATON ROUGE – Tulane Bowling finished the Southern Queens Tournament today, placing fourth and finishing with a total of 11,381 points.
Junior Mia Stolakis was honored as the All-Tournament MVP and assigned to the All-Tournament team after achieving the highest traditional match average in the meet with 195 pins per match.
Tulane played three matches today, winning one against Morgan State and giving up two against Alabama State.
The Green Wave first faced Alabama State and won games three and five against the Hornets 175-159 and 192-182. However, Alabama State came out on top in games one (188-168), two (179-169), four (175-147), and six (160-136).
Tulane swept Morgan State in their second match of the day, winning four games in a row 154-124, 180-176, 185-166, and 175-144.
Tulane rematched Alabama State in their third match to determine third and fourth place; the Hornets claimed third after winning games one (194-129), three (148-141), four (180-160), and five (165-150), while Tulane won the second game 209-159 and placed fourth.
The University of Alabama Birmingham won the tournament and Sam Houston came in second.
