Green Wave Ties for Sixth at Ron Moore Intercollegiate

DENVER, Colo. – Tulane golf moved up one spot in the standings after the final round of play to finish in a tie for sixth in the field of 15 teams at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate tournament. The Green Wave carded a 290 (+2) on Sunday to end the tournament at +6 (870) as a team.
Gabriella Gilrowski led the way for the Wave throughout the tournament as she finished at -1 (215) to tie for 15th overall after 54 holes. Gilrowski recorded her best round of the tournament on Sunday carding a 69 (-3) after shooting a 71 (-1) on Friday and a 75 (+3) on Saturday. She finished the weekend with nine birdies, including four in the third round, to tie for 25th in the tournament.
The next player on the leaderboard for Tulane was Cristina Albertazzi who tied for 26th overall with a 54-hole total of 218 (+2). She carded her best round in the first round with a 71 (-1) followed by a 74 (+2) in the second and a 73 (+1) in the third. Albertazzi ended the weekend with a team-high 11 birdies which ranked tied for 11th.
Matilde Innocenti finished the tournament with a three-round card of 219 (+3) to land tied for 31st in the field. She also posted a 71 (-1) in her first 18 holes before recording a 74 (+2) on Saturday and Sunday.
Rounding out the group for the Green Wave were Francesca Pompa at +7 (223) and Sophia Yi-Ju Chen at +9 (225) for the weekend. Pompa shot back-to-back rounds of 72 (E) to open the tournament before posting a 79 (+7) in the final round to end up tied for 46th. Chen carded a 72 (E), 79 (+7), and 74 (+2) to finish tied for 54th overall.
Up next, Tulane will travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the Dale McNamara Invitational hosted by Tulsa on October 14-15.
