Wave Beats Mississippi State for the First Time in 20 Years

NEW ORLEANS - Tulane Women's Tennis downed the Mississippi State Bulldogs for the first time in 20 years in a 4-0 sweep on Friday.
The Wave split the first two doubles, with the duo of Yelamanchili/Borland taking court one and Mississippi State winning on court three. It came down to Barber/Clark on court two, who forced a tie breaker, winning 77-64Â to secure the doubles point.
In singles, Tulane protected the sweep as Kristen Borland won a quick 6-2, 6-4 match on court three, Cora Barber took a 6-2, 77-62 match on court four, and Charlotte Russell fought through a third set to win 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 and clinch the match for the Wave.
Tulane will return to City Park on Sunday at 1pm to take on Ole Miss.Â
