
Men's Tennis Bested by Tulsa

NEW ORLEANS - Tulane Men's Tennis (2-8) fell in a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to conference foe Tulsa (4-7) on Friday.
The competition was neck-and-neck, with all three doubles matches going into tiebreaks. The Wave struck first with the duo of Petrovic/Sherer taking court three first in a 77-63 victory. Tulsa fought back to win court two 77-65, but the Golden Hurricanes fell short as Bancila/Hoeijmans secured the doubles point for Tulane in a 77-64 victory on court one.
In singles, Tulsa took the first three matches on courts two, three and four to bring the tally to 3-1, but soon after Billy Suarez fought back from losing the first set to force a third set after winning the tiebreaker in set two. Suarez ended up winning the third set 7-5 to give Tulane it's second point of the evening. Shortly after, Hoeijmans tied the score at three apiece after defeating his opponent in a swift 6-2, 6-2 win on court five. All eyes were on De Alba vs Tosetto to settle the score, but after losing the first set in the tiebreaker, De Alba would down the second set as well to give Tulsa the point and 4-3 win.
The Wave will return to action on Sunday at City Park for another conference matchup versus Charlotte at 1 pm.
