Men's Tennis Sweeps on Senior Day
Mar 22, 2024 | Men's Tennis
New Orleans - Men's Tennis swept Jackson State 7-0 on Friday at home during senior day.
Jackson State was forced to forfeit number three doubles due to lack of a second player, giving Tulane the early advantage on court three. The Green Wave managed to clean up on courts one and two, though, to take the doubles point in an impressive 22 minutes.
In singles, Jackson State was also forced to forfeit court six due to only having five available players, leaving Tulane at an early 2-0 lead. De Alba gained the first point for the Green Wave in singles after a 6-0, 6-1 win, which he completed in just 47 minutes. Petrovic followed 16 minutes later, besting his opponent 6-4, 6-0 on court three before Bancila brought it home and clinched the match on court two in a 6-1, 6-2 win. The teams played out the remaining two matches, but Tulane would prove too strong for the Tigers as Suarez and Kuenkler would both give up no more than four games total.
Tulane will head to Dallas next week to take on SMU.
