
No. 8 Seed Bowling Falls 2-1 to No. 5 Seed Louisiana Tech in the Third Round of CUSA Tournament

Harahan, Louisiana. – The No. 8 seed Tulane University bowling team put up a great effort and fought all the way to the end before falling 2-1 to No. 5 seed Louisiana Tech in Round 3 of the CUSA Bowling Championships on Friday at Colonial Lanes. The program was eliminated from the tournament with the defeat.
The program started the day falling to the Bulldogs 1112-903 in traditional play.
The team rallied to tie the series up in the baker with a 1052-1038 victory. The individual games scores were 224-205 (W), 207-179 (W), 257-214 (L), 206-192 (W) and 205-201 (L).
The best-of-seven went the distance and came down to the 10th frame with Louisiana Tech holding on for a 235-224 seventh game victory to eliminate Tulane from the tournament. The individual game scores were 236-159 (L), 190-173 (W), 245-186 (L), 187-179 (W), 217-146 (L), 214-170 (W) and 235-224 (L)
Next Tulane competes in the ITC Singles and Team National Championships. By finishing in a tie for third overall in the Fort Worth Sectional in the ITC Qualifiers, Tulane earned the bid to compete at the ITC National Tournament from April 18-20 at Kingpin Lanes in Jeffersontown, Kentucky. The event will also feature the ITC Singles Championships, which Morgan Gitlitz qualified for, by placing fourth among the individuals from April 16-20.
