
Tulane Takes Sixth and Ninth in Road Regattas

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing claimed sixth place and ninth place in two separated road regattas at the end of racing on Sunday. The Green Wave coed crew maintained its slot in the Marchiando Trophy Team Race in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to take sixth in the field of seven while the Wave women's team dropped three spots Sunday to land ninth out of 11 teams in the the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race in Providence, Rhode Island.
Tulane added a pair of wins on Sunday at the Marchiando Trophy Team Race to finish the regatta with a 4-14 overall record. The Green Wave earned three of its four wins against Miami and added one over MIT behind the racing of skippers Matheo Capasso, Zander King, and Kelly Holthus with crews CJ Ricci, Gillian Perrell, Ella May Corckran, and Brady Starck.
At the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race the Wave posted a 2-4 record on Sunday to end the regatta with a 6-10 mark and land ninth in the field. Skippers Mia Hanes, Ava Anderson, and Sammie Gardner teamed with crews Cate Anderson, Hope Breslin, Mira Herlihy, Ellie Spearman, Abigail Borggaard, and Lucy Spearman led Tulane to wins over Bowdoin, College of Charleston, Harvard, MIT, South Florida, and Yale on the weekend.
Up next, the Green Wave will head to Austin, Texas, to compete in the SEISA Conference Championships and New Haven, Connecticut, for the Yale Women's Team Race from April 5-7.
