
Tulane Set for Weekend at Beach Burrow Bash

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University beach volleyball (19-7) will travel to the Sunshine State to compete in the Beach Burrow Bash hosted by Florida Atlantic this weekend in Boca Raton, Florida. The Green Wave will play four duals over the weekend including three against ranked opponents.

The Wave will begin competition on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. CT against No. 14 Florida International. Tulane is just 2-10 all-time against the Panthers with a 3-0 defeat in the last meeting at the Conference USA Championships in 2023. The last time the Green Wave beat Florida International came in 2018 at the Surf 'N' Turf Invitational in Miami, Florida.

Following the dual with the Panthers Tulane will finish play on Saturday against the weekend host No. 18 Florida Atlantic at 4:30 p.m. CT. The Wave holds a 2-9 record against the Owls with the last win also coming at the 2018 Surf 'N' Turf Invitational.

On Sunday the Green Wave will face its third ranked opponent of the weekend when it squares off against No. 16 Stetson at 8:30 a.m. CT. The dual marks the 12th meeting between the Wave and the Hatters with Tulane trailing the series 3-8 despite winning the latest matchup 3-2 at the Carolina Challenge last season.

Tulane will wrap up play at the Beach Burrow Bash against Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. CT. The Green Wave is 2-2 all-time against Eagles with the latest victory coming in DeLand, Florida, in 2014.

The Wave is coming off a 2-0 sweep of the Bayou Beach Duals at home on April 6. Tulane defeated New Orleans 4-1 before sweeping McNeese State 5-0.

Following the Beach Burrow Bash, the Green Wave will return home for the final competition of the regular season on April 19-20. Tulane will host Cal Poly, Southern Miss, UAB, and Louisiana-Monroe for the NOLA Classic at White Sands Volleyball Courts.
