
Tulane Hosts NOLA Classic to Close Regular Season

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University beach volleyball (20-10) will wrap up the regular season by hosting the NOLA Classic on Friday and Saturday at White Sands Volleyball Courts. The Green Wave will welcome No. 4 Cal Poly, Southern Miss, UAB, and Louisiana-Monroe to town for the final four matchups of the 2024 regular season.

The Wave will play its first dual of the weekend against fourth-ranked Cal Poly at 4 p.m. on Friday. Tulane is 0-3 all-time against the Mustangs with a 3-2 loss in the latest meeting at the Mustang Invitational in 2023.

To conclude competition on Friday the Green Wave will square off against Southern Miss for the second time this season. The dual between the Wave and the Golden Eagles is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Tulane holds a perfect 15-0 record all-time against Southern Miss including a 5-0 sweep at the Tiger Beach Challenge in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on March 2.

On Saturday Tulane will face Conference USA foe UAB at 11 a.m. The Green Wave is 1-2 this season against league opponents with its lone victory coming last weekend over No. 18 Florida Atlantic. This marks the 25th meeting in program history between the Wave and the Blazers with Tulane holding an 18-6 advantage in the series. Tulane defeated UAB 3-2 in the latest matchup at the Blazer Beach Bash in Birmingham, Alabama, last season.

Tulane will wrap up the regular season against Louisiana-Monroe at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Green Wave is riding a nine-match win streak against the Warhawks including a 5-0 sweep in 2022 at the Southern Miss Tournament to improve to 10-5 in the series.

Prior to the Wave's first dual on Saturday against UAB, Tulane will honor its seniors with a Senior Day presentation. The seniors being honored on Saturday for the Green Wave include Trinity Jackson, Ainsley Patrick, Savka Popovic, and Lara Torruella.

Following the NOLA Classic, Tulane will compete in the 2024 Conference USA Beach Volleyball Championship in Youngsville, Louisiana. The tournament will be hosted at Sugar Beach from April 25-27.
