
Track & Field’s Jack Jennings and Ilia Kunin Both Qualify for NCAA East First Round

Lexington, Kentucky – The NCAA announced this week that Jack Jennings and Illia Kunin of Tulane's outdoor track & field program both qualified to compete at next week's East First Round in Lexington, Kentucky from May 22-25.
Jennings will compete in the 10,000m on Wednesday, May 22, at 8:10 p.m. Kunin starts his competition on Friday, May 24, at 7:10 p.m. in the 5,000m. The top 12 times in each of the two regions (East & West) advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships held in Eugene, Oregon from June 5-8.
Jennings enters the meet ranked first in the AAC, eighth in the East Region and 35th in the NCAA in the 10,000m with his school record time of 28:28.72 which he achieved at the Raleigh Relays. Kunin is third in the AAC and ranked 35th in the East Region in the 5,000m with his school record time of 13:46.94 also achieved at the Raleigh Relays.
At last week's AAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Jennings was a two-time medal winner for the program as he took second in the men's 5,000m (14:24.61) and third in the men's 10,000m (30:56.98). Kunin finished eighth in the men's 1500m (3:48.08) to earn a point for the squad.
