Kanija Daniel Earns American Conference Honor
Nov 17, 2025 | Women's Basketball
IRVING, Texas – Junior guard Kanija Daniel was named as an American Conference Honorable Mention honoree in this week's women's basketball awards as announced by the league office Monday afternoon. This is her first weekly honor and the first by a Tulane player this season.
The Green Wave played just once last week, a 77-54 triumph over North Florida at home. Daniel led the way with 20 points on 8-of-18 shooting to mark her first-career 20-point affair at the Division I level. She added a trio of made threes, a new career best. The native of Carrollton, Georgia, accrued three steals in the game with five rebounds and one block.
Daniel has notched at least three steals in every game this season. She owns 11 total to sit one short of the conference lead. With 3.67 per game, the reigning NJCAA Player of the Year is 24th in the nation and tops in the league.
The Green Wave is 2-1 on the season after the victory over the Ospreys. Tulane is set to host No. 5 LSU tonight at 6:00 p.m. in Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The marquee match-up is sold out and will receive a national television audience, airing on ESPNU.
