Tulane Invited to Play in Inaugural College Basketball Crown Tournament

LAS VEGAS – Tulane men's basketball has been invited to participate in the College Basketball Crown in Las Vegas from March 31 to April 6. The Green Wave will open the event against the USC Trojans in the first round on April 1 at 10 p.m. CT.

The event is a 16-team men's postseason tournament that features teams that were not selected to participate in the NCAA Tournament. All games in the tournament will be played at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and the T-Mobil Arena in Las Vegas. The first and second rounds of the tournament will be aired on FS1 while the semifinals and championship will air of FOX.

The Green Wave will be making its first postseason appearance since playing the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT) during the 2013-14Â campaign.

Tulane finished the regular season with a 19-14 record after reaching the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference Championship for the fourth time. The Wave also posted a 12-6 mark in league play matching a program best with 12 conference victories since joining the AAC in 2014.

USC will enter the tournament with a 16-17 record including ranked wins over No. 7 Michigan State and No. 13 Illinois in Big 10 play. The Trojans ranked 26th in the country this season in field goal percentage this season and 38th in offensive efficiency according to KenPom.
