Green Wave Student-Athlete Enhancement Partners with Hancock Whitney for Career Tour
Mar 26, 2025 | General
NEW ORLEANS – On Monday, March 17, Tulane Athletics participated in its first-ever Career Tour at Hancock Whitney Bank in downtown New Orleans led by the Student-Athlete Enhancement department. Six student-athletes from five different sports took part in the experience, connecting with senior Vice Presidents and the Regional Market President.
During the visit, student-athletes heard from speakers about their current roles and day-to-day responsibilities. The speakers also shared the career paths that led them to their current positions, insights into the certifications required for various roles, internship programs details, and career growth opportunities. Several of the professionals who participated in the tour are Tulane alumni while many others have ties to the university. These Tulane connections helped to make the experience even more impactful for the selected student-athletes.
Our student-athletes pour so much time into excelling in the classroom and on the field that they don't always get the chance to explore career opportunities within their intended fields," said Associate AD for Student-Athlete Development Jada Buckner-Greer. "That's what makes this experience so special s it was an opportunity for them to step outside the lines and get a real, day-to-day look at what a career in finance could look like. Through networking and asking questions, our student-athletes gained valuable insights that will help shape their futures. We are extremely grateful to Hancock Whitney for their time and effort in creating such a special opportunity for our student-athletes."
Student-athletes attending the first Career Tour included Asaf Friedler (Men's Tennis), Madison Hall (Beach Volleyball), Luc Hoeijmans (Men's Tennis), Dekel Regev (Men's Track), Jack Solmo (Sailing) and Tonka Zacharovska (Women's Golf).
This inaugural Career Tour provided student-athletes the ability to expand their networks and explore potential career paths. The Student-Athlete Enhancement department plans to have several career tours in the future with additional business sectors and industries.
