Apr 22, 2025 | Men's Basketball
NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University men's basketball program announced the addition of Scotty Middleton to its roster for the 2025-26 campaign this week. Middleton will join the Green Wave this fall with two years of eligibility remaining.
Â
"Scotty is my type of player," Head Coach Ron Hunter said. "He's versatile, long and athletic. He can play multiple positions but most importantly, he's a phenomenal human being."
Â
Middleton, a 6'7" forward, spent the last season at Seton Hall where he appeared in 29 games with four starts for the Pirates. The Miami, Florida, native averaged 5.8 points and 2.3 rebounds in 21.1 minutes per game during the 2024-25Â campaign.
Â
During his lone season with the Pirates, Middleton tallied double figures in scoring in five games including a career-high 16 points against Oklahoma State on December 8, 2024. He finished the year shooting at a 43.4 percent clip from the floor and 38.4 percent from beyond the arc. Middleton also recorded two games where he connected on all four shot attempts from three-point range.
Â
Before he joined Seton Hall, the Sunshine State product spent one season at Ohio State where he played in 30 games including one start. Middleton averaged 4.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in 15.3 minutes on the floor for the Buckeyes.
Â
While playing at Ohio State he recorded a pair of games with double figures in scoring and notched a career-best eight rebounds against Oakland on November 6, 2023. His range from downtown was on display for the Buckeyes as well as he connected at a 45.2 percent clip from distance.
Â
Middleton was a five-star recruit for one of the most talented teams in the country at Sunrise Christian. He was ranked 34th nationally in the 2023 recruiting class according to ESPN. During his two seasons at Sunrise Christian Middleton helped lead the team to the Geico Nationals both seasons including a run to the final four as a senior that included a win over defending champion and top-seed Montverde in the first round.
Â
In his prep career Middleton also played for Brad Beal Elite AAU team on the EYBL Circuit. He averaged 10.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists across seven games to help lead the team to the Elite 8 of Nike's Peach Jam.
