Tulane Athletics Celebrates Record-Setting Give Green
Apr 23, 2025 | General, Green Wave Club
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Athletics celebrated its most successful Give Green to date earlier this month, setting records for both unique donor contributions and dollars raised on the University's annual day of giving.
Held on April 8 – 9, Tulane Athletics saw more than $400,000 in contributions to the Green Wave Club from 987 individual donors, setting new high-marks in both categories for any individual school or unit in the eight-year history of Give Green.
"We are tremendously grateful for the outpouring of support we saw on Give Green this year," said Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair, David Harris. "As I have shared many times recently, this is a pivotal moment for Tulane Athletics as our industry undergoes significant change. That is why we are so appreciative of the belief our donors have in us. Each gift matters and each person can play a vital role in our success."
Tulane Athletics also earned first place in Group A of the Katy and Alan Stone Big Green Grand Prize competition, earning an additional $8,000 for the Green Wave Club. The annual competition encourages donor participation, awarding additional prize money to the schools and units who see the highest number of unique donors on Give Green. Athletics topped the Tulane Law School (586 gifts), the A.B. Freeman School of Business (409 gifts), and the School of Medicine (282 gifts) to claim the top spot.
"We had two goals for Give Green this year: set a new donor participation record and reclaim the Big Green Grand Prize. I am proud to say that we did both!" said Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development, Justin Berger. "As usual, the Green Wave Family answered the call to support. We are so thankful for our colleagues, alumni, fans and friends all over the country who played a part in this historic day for the Green Wave Club."
Across the entire University, Give Green 2025 was Tulane's most successful day of giving to date, raising $1,807,680 from 4,690 individual donors.
The department's record-setting Give Green 2025 performance comes as Tulane Athletics aims to grow the Green Wave Club through Ascend TUgether, an ongoing fundraising effort with an immediate goal to raise $4 million in unrestricted annual giving and grow Green Wave Club membership to 3,500 donors by May 2025. All gifts to the Green Wave Club made on Give Green propel Tulane Athletics closer to its Ascend TUgether goals.
Though Give Green has come to a close, opportunity remains to make an impact on Tulane Athletics. Join the Green Wave Club here.
