POMPANO BEACH – Tulane Beach Volleyball spent its weekend at the FIU Invite in Pompano Beach, Florida, where it secured its first Conference USA win of the season.Â
On Saturday, April 6, Tulane defeated No. 20 FIU 5-0 to clinch its first conference win. The win over the Panthers served as a comeback, as FIU defeated the Wave 3-2 on Friday. Avery Burks put up five blocks for the win, while her partner Amelia Mullen landed five aces.Â
FGCU had a dominant weekend, as they beat Tulane 3-2 in both of their matches. However, Sara Hall and Gigi Gallegos had a stunning pair win, with Gallegos logging 17 kills and digs and Hall hitting 19 kills.Â
The Wave will next head to the Battle on the Bayou hosted by LSU on April 11 and 12.Â
