NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Women's Basketball head coach Ashley Langford has announced the addition of Kanija "Fat" Daniel to its roster ahead of the upcoming season.
The junior guard joins the Green Wave from Chipola College in Marianna, Florida, where she averaged 19.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game en route to NJCAA National Player of the Year and first-team All-American honors. She was also named as the Panhandle Conference Player of the Year.
She began her career at Georgia Southern, where she appeared in 17 games as a freshman.
"Fat is a gifted scorer who can put points on the board from anywhere on the floor," said Langford, "She is explosive in transition, and her ability to stretch the defense with her 3-point shooting will be a real asset for us. What has impressed me most is her growth from her freshman to sophomore year - she knows how to work, and that's exactly what our culture is built on."
A native of Carrollton, Georgia, Daniel was a three-time all-region honoree at Carrollton High School, scoring over 1,000 career points for the Trojans under head coach Shon Thomaston
