Greetings Green Wave faithful,
Â
I always look forward to providing updates to our community, especially at the beginning of each academic year as we reflect on the past seasons and look forward to a new year in Uptown. Before I continue, however, this year we experienced a great loss and a member of the Green Wave family. I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to the family, teammates, coaches and friends of Gregg Glenn III on his passing last month.
Â
Gregg's legacy at Tulane University and within our men's basketball program will always be remembered. In honor of his enduring impact, the athletic department will pay tribute to his memory throughout the year, through each of our sports and many home contests.
Â
As we begin to remember and look forward, we are incredibly proud of the remarkable accomplishments of Tulane Athletics over the past year. I hope you are as well.
Â
Last year, we crowned three conference champions—Men's Cross Country, Women's Indoor Track & Field, and Sailing. Â
Â
Our coaching staff earned three American Conference Coaches of the Year awards—Swimming and Diving's Amanda Caldwell and Adrian Myers, whose staff captured the Cross Country and Indoor Track and Field awards.
Â
Rookies of the Year honors went to Kendall Sneed in Women's Basketball and Campbell Ricci in Women's Tennis.Â
Â
We celebrated 65 all-conference selections and had five athletes drafted professionally.
Â
Our Yulman Stadium attendance set a record, and our Green Wave Club raised a departmental record of $3.9 million in annual fund cash, with 3,544 members—a new donor record. Â
Â
Our Give Green campaign raised over $400,000 from nearly 1,000 donors. Â
Â
Academically, our student-athletes maintained an impressive GPA of 3.256, with 114 on the fall dean's list, 92 on the spring list, and 12 graduating with honors. Â
Â
Community service was a highlight, with over 6,000 hours performed—the top mark in the American—and 97% of our athletes participated in community initiatives, with every team involved. As a result of these efforts, the Green Wave was named a finalist for the NACDA and Fiesta Bowl Community Service Award.
Â
On the capital projects front, we completed the Wilson Center renovations, the Baseball Wet Locker Room, the Golf Practice facility, a new video board at Yulman, and redesigned courts at Hertz Center. We also celebrated the grand opening of the Alexander Community Sailing Center—a fantastic addition for our Sailing program.
Â
Overall, it was an incredible year for our department, and I couldn't be prouder of what we accomplished together.
Â
Turning the page to the 2025-26 academic year, we are incredibly focused on reaching greater heights in all facets of our department.Â
Â
Fans will see new LED lighting at Yulman Stadium, the Uptown Terrace premium seating area, and a new court at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. Also coming online in early 2026 will be the Goldring Tennis Center and indoor practice facility. The indoor facility project has experienced delays due to weather, permitting and regular construction challenges. We will continue to provide updates as the project progresses.
Â
Our departmental goals for 2025-26 focus on maintaining momentum and excellence. As college athletics evolves, we aim to be among the top Group of 5 programs nationally by striving to be the best.
Â
While your direct support of our department, whether by purchasing tickets, giving to the Green Wave Club or joining the Olive & Blue Society remains critical to our growth and well-being, please remember that having a strong Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) program is also critical to providing opportunities for our student-athletes. Therefore, a key initiative this year remains the Green Wave Talent Fund which supports NIL opportunities and pool payments for our student-athletes. Please consider giving to help us continue competing at the highest level.
Last night we held our virtual town hall in which I was able to expand on these topics and a few more, you can watch it here if you missed it or want more detail on several of these topics.Â
Your involvement makes all the difference, and everyone has a role in making Tulane Athletics the best it can be. Whether you cheer from the stands, support us financially, or simply share your pride, your support is essential. Together, we can continue building a legacy of excellence, community, and achievement. I look forward to seeing you at an event or on campus soon.
 Roll Wave,
Â
