Tulane Opens Spring with Two in Texas

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane women's tennis team will start its spring competition schedule this weekend with a Friday match against #2 Texas A&M and another on Sunday versus #25 Baylor.

The start time against the Aggies will be 11 a.m., while the Green Wave and Bears will do battle at noon.

Texas A&M boasts a 71-match home winning streak, which began nearly four years ago. The two schools last met in 2023, with the Aggies registering a 7-0 sweep on January 20, 2023.

The Bears, who will face Illinois on Saturday, saw action last week at the Lady Vols Invite in Knoxville. The team was swept in singles by 16th-ranked Tennessee and dropped five of six to 18th-ranked Vanderbilt and again to Arizona State.

Baylor did take two of three doubles matches from the Commodores.

Tulane boasts six returnees from its Spring 2025 campaign, including the American Conference's Freshman of the Year, Campbell Ricci. The Las Vegas native finished last spring ranked 17th in the ITA Southern Regional singles rankings. She posted a 15-3 singles record at the No. 1 position, including a 14-2 mark during the regular season.
