Wave Takes Doubles Point but Ole Miss Sweeps Singles

OXFORD, MS – Tulane's doubles teams came up big on Friday, capturing the opening point at Ole Miss, but the host Rebels dominated the singles play in a 6-1 victory for the home team.
Ole Miss improved to 5-0 with the victory, while the Green Wave dropped to 1-1.
The Olive and Blue secured a #2 doubles win from Alec Gaudin and AJ Mercer (6-4) before Daniel Phillips and Lance Nisbet grabbed the point with a 7-4 tiebreaker victory at No. 1 over the 11th-ranked tandem of Isac Stromberg and Kai Milburn.
Phillips' second-set victory forced a 10-point tiebreaker at No. 1 singles but he ultimately fell 10-8 to Stefano D'Agostino.
The Green Wave is back in action on Saturday, January 31 at UAB (time TBA). The Blazers are 1-3 this season following a 6-1 loss at Middle Tennessee on Friday morning.
