Tulane Heads West for Ron Moore Intercollegiate

NEW ORLEANSÂ - Tulane women's golf is back on the road this weekend as the Green Wave travels to Denver, Colorado, to compete in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate from Friday through Sunday, Oct. 2-4. The three-day tournament will be hosted by the University of Denver at the University of Denver Golf Club in Highlands Ranch.Â

Representing the Green Wave in this weekend's tournament will be Francesca Pompa, Sophia Chen, Sophia Macias, Cristina Albertazzi, and Daniela Montolio Reyes. Pompa leads the Wave through the first two tournaments of the season with three out of six rounds under par, 21 total birdies and one eagle.

The Green Wave will compete in a 15-team field that includes UNLV, Texas State, Long Beach State, Hawai'i, Colorado State, UTSA, Northern Colorado, Xavier, Boise State, Wyoming, Colorado, Notre Dame, Oregon State, and host Denver.

The Ron Moore Intercollegiate will begin with tee times between 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, followed by a shotgun start Sunday starting at 8:30 a.m. Each day will consist of one 18-hole round. The Green Wave will play alongside Texas State and Northern Colorado during the first round.Â

In its last tournament, Pompa led the Wave with two rounds under par at the Schooner Fall Classic. She carded rounds of 69(-1), 71 (+1), and 67(-3) to finish tied for 18th with a three-round score of 207 (-3). As a team, Tulane finished 11th recording a three-round total 853 (+13).
