
Swimming and Diving’s Eliza Lennox, Fiona Keilly Earn American Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas — Tulane swimming and diving earned two American Conference weekly awards Tuesday, Oct. 6, following a strong weekend performance at the FIU TYR Fall Classic. Sophomore Eliza Lennox was named American Swimmer of the Week, while freshman Fiona Keilly earned Freshman Diver of the Week honors.
Lennox Named Swimmer of the Week
Eliza Lennox, a sophomore from Boulder, Colorado, won the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle at the unsuited meet, setting meet records in both events. She also contributed to Tulane's relay efforts throughout the weekend.

The honor is the first conference weekly award of Lennox's career. She is Tulane's first Swimmer of the Week recipient since Andrea Zeebe earned the honor on Jan. 27, 2026.
Keilly named Freshman Diver of the Week
Fiona Keilly, a freshman from Calgary, Alberta, placed third in the 3-meter dive with 243.35 points and 11th in the 1-meter competition with 205.95 points.
It is the first conference weekly award of Keilly's career. She is Tulane's first Freshman Diver of the Week honoree since Libby Brewer received the award on Feb. 10, 2026.
The awards mark the 22nd and 23rd weekly honors earned by Tulane swimmers and divers over the past three seasons.
Recent Competition Recap
Tulane placed fourth overall at the FIU TYR Fall Classic, held Oct. 2–3 at the Doral Aquatics Center in Doral, Florida. The Green Wave scored 1,018.50 points, won four events and recorded 22 top-10 finishes.
In addition to Lennox's victories, junior Lise Coetzee won the 200 freestyle (1:50.32) and 500 freestyle (5:00.10). Freshman Franchesca Sanchez placed second in the 100 butterfly (57.27), and sophomore Mary Kate Kupsky finished second in the 200 backstroke (2:04.99). Senior Gwen Shahboz earned third-place finishes in the 400 individual medley (4:28.85), 200 breaststroke (2:22.47) and 200 individual medley (2:08.68).

Tulane returns to competition Oct. 23–24 at a meet in North Carolina. The Green Wave's next home meet is the second annual Mardi Gras Invitational, Jan. 15–16 at the Reily Center. The event will feature New Mexico, Delta State and Loyola New Orleans.

The program finished fifth overall at the 2026 American Conference Swimming Championships with 905.50 points. The program totaled an event victory and five medal winners in the competition. Lise Coetzee won the 200 free and placed second in the 500 free. Varvara Gkiouzepa Petropoulou was the runner-up in the 200 butterfly. Eliza Lennox took third in the 100 free. The 800 relay team of Coetzee, Andrea Zeebe, Phoebe Johnson, and Rafaela Sumida placed third. Libby Brewer was named the league's Freshman Diver of the Year and also qualified and competed at NCAA Zones this season. Tulane also saw 11 qualify and compete at the 2026 CSCAA National Invitational Championships in Danielle Barberie, Coetzee, Nicole Fant, Paula Gaya Bisquerra, Petropoulou, Ebba Holgersson, Johnson, Mary Kate Kupsky, Lennox, Gwen Shahboz, and Marin Shimkus. The program saw four earn a spot on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District ® Division I Swimming & Diving Team in Petropoulou, Hatipoglu, Johnson, and Zeebe and three selected as College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-Americans in Lennox, Petropoulou, and Brewer.
