New York – Tulane redshirt junior linebacker Dickson Agu has been to the Comeback Player of the Year Midseason Watch List, the national organization announced on Monday, Nov. 2.
Agu, who is coming off a knee injury that limited him to five games in 2025, recorded 14 tackles in the team's 38-31 road overtime victory over Charlotte on Friday, Oct. 30. His 14 tackles tied his career-high set earlier this season and both totals are the most for a Tulane player in a game since Corey Platt tallied 15 during the 2023 campaign.
He is one of 38 players named to the Comeback Player of the Year Midseason Watch List this season.
On the year Agu leads Tulane with 78 tackles and has reached double figures in tackles in four the team's eight games.
The Comeback Player of the Year Award is sponsored by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the Associated Press, and the Fiesta Bowl.
In the offseason, Agu was named to the Comeback Player of the Year Preseason Watch List and was honored as one of the players on the Comeback Player of the Week Award on Sept. 15 following the second week of action. Since 2018, the Comeback Player of the Year has recognized college football student-athletes for overcoming injury, illness or other circumstances. At the conclusion of each season, in a vote by a panel of Associated Press College football writers and sports information directors, three college football student-athletes are honored during an on-field ceremony at the VRBO Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona on Dec. 30, 2026 at the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal game. Agu was one of 94 players on the preseason watch list this season.
