BATON ROUGE – Tulane's Summer Chandler picked up a straight set victory at No. 2 singles but it was fifth-ranked LSU that emerged with a 6-1 win Monday evening at the LSU Tennis Complex.

The Tigers improved to 5-0 on the season, while the Green Wave dropped to 1-4.

Chandler downed LSU's Florentine Dekkers 6-4, 6-4 and Micah Pierce nearly pulled out another win. She stormed back to win the second set against #81 Kinaa Graham but surrendered the 10-point tiebreaker 11-9 at No. 4 singles.

The Tigers clinched the opening doubles point with wins at Nos. 2 and 3. Tulane's Chandler and Campbell Ricco led the No. 1 match when play was halted.

Tulane's next match will be an 11 a.m. affair at Louisiana on Sunday. The Ragin' Cajuns are 2-0 on the season with 4-0 wins over Southern and Louisiana Christian.
