Green Wave Bounces Back Against Cajuns

LAFAYETTE – Tulane captured the doubles point and then rolled to three singles victories to blank host Louisiana Sunday afternoon at the Cajun Courts in Lafayette.

The Green Wave improved to 2-4 overall, while the Ragin' Cajuns fell to 2-2.

Tulane took command of the doubles point by securing wins at Nos. 1 (6-2, Leigh Van Zyl and Summer Chandler) and 2 (6-0, Micah Pierce and Campbell Ricci).Â

In singles, Natalia Perez (7-5, 6-2) emerged victorious at No. 2, while Van Zyl (6-4, 6-3) and Diana Badalyan (6-3, 6-2) did the same at Nos. 3 and 6.

The Green Wave is back in action Friday at Tulsa when it plays the Golden Hurricane at 5 p.m. Tulsa is 4-4 on the season and has dropped its last three contests to #6 Oklahoma (7-0), Arkansas (4-1) and Kansas State (4-2).
