NEW ORLEANS – Tulane's Natalia Fantini put forth a dominant effort at No. 6 singles, but #38 Charlotte had host Tulane covered elsewhere and recorded a 4-1 win on Friday afternoon at Goldring Tennis Center.

The 49ers improved to 11-3 overall, while the Green Wave dropped to 7-7.

Fantini won 6-4, 6-0 over Charlotte's Paula Dougherty and teamed with Natalia Perez to take down the visitors Lucia Aranda and Yelyzaveta Chainykova 6-1 at No. 3 doubles.

Tulane will be back in action Sunday at 11 a.m. for Senior Day against #56 Rice (7-4). The Owls and 49ers will face either other on Saturday at 10 a.m.
