
Tulane Remains 17th in March NTCA Coaches Poll

NEW ORLEANS – The penultimate National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Coaches Poll was announced today with Tulane holding firm at No. 17 for the third-straight edition. The Green Wave began the season at No. 19 in the preseason rankings before climbing to No. 17 for the first time in the December poll. Tulane has remained in 17th since, receiving the ranking in both the February and now March polls.

All 12 members of Conference USA are ranked in the latest top 25, including each of the top-seven programs and 10 of the top 11. Jacksonville State remains the top team, earning unanimous No. 1 honors with all 37 first-place votes. Vanderbilt is second, followed by Arkansas State, Nebraska, Wichita State, Louisiana Tech, and Youngstown State.

Tulane is 54-37 on the campaign and holds an NTCA power index ranking of 0.56534, 19th in the nation. The Wave owns 21 ranked wins this season with 11 of them over top-10 foes.

The Wave is led by Mia Stolakis, who is 19th in the country with a player composite performance index (PCPI) of 88.919 percent. Her 415 strikes lead the team, and she is one of three players on the squad with at least 250. Sarah Rubi (266) and Valeria Colon (261) join her with 250-plus. As one of the best anchor bowlers in the nation, Stolakis is seventh in the country with a 10th frame scoring average of 21.246, and she is seventh with a 10th frame double percentage of 34.3. Linnea Holcomb thrives in the Baker format, posting the eighth-lowest split leave percentage in the nation at 5.6.

Tulane just qualified for the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships by placing fourth in the Fort Worth sectional over the weekend. The Green Wave will have an opportunity to compete for that title in April in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Up next for the Wave is the Conference USA Bowling Championship, which Tulane hosts at Colonial Lanes in Harahan, Louisiana. The event begins on Wednesday, March 18, and runs through Sunday, March 22.
