Wave Sails Coast-to-Coast this Weekend

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing competes coast-to-coast this weekend in two regattas on Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29. The Green Wave will send a women's team to race in the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race in Providence, Rhode Island, while another crew will head west for the first Triad Scrimmage against Stanford in Redwood City, California.

The Wave will be one of 12 teams competing on the waters of the Providence River in the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race hosted by Brown. The other teams setting sail from the Ted Turner '60 Sailing Pavilion includes Bowdoin, College of Charleston, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, MIT, Roger Williams, Stanford, Tufts, Yale, and the host school Brown.

Representing Tulane in the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race will be the starting lineup of skipper Oakley Cunningham with crew Hope Breslin, skipper Ava Anderson with crew Ella May Corckran, and skipper Gabriela Vassel with crew Charlotte Casey. The Green Wave will also have alternates Cate Anderson, Caitlin Briggs, Caroline Caudron, and Lola Kohl.
Racing in the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race is scheduled to begin at approximately 10 a.m. CT on Saturday and approximately 9 a.m. CT on Sunday. Competition at the regatta will feature the following format:

- Round 1 – Round Robin of all 12 teams.
- Round 2 – Round Robin of the top eight or six teams (Gold) and the bottom four or six teams (Silver) after Round 1.
- Round 3 – Round Robin of the top four teams after Round 2.
