Tulane Falls on the Road to Temple

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. – Tulane men's basketball (17-13, 8-9) dropped its third consecutive game losing 60-89 on the road to Temple (16-14, 8-9) on Thursday night. With the loss the Green Wave dropped to 6-4 in true road games this season including 5-4 in conference play.

Rowan Brumbaugh and Scotty Middleton were the only players for the Wave to reach double figures against the Owls. Brumbaugh finished with 14 points to go with seven assists and one steal. Middleton followed with 12 points, four rebounds, one steal, and one block.

The contest between Tulane and Temple began as a back-and-forth affair as the two teams traded the lead eight times in the first half. The Green Wave claimed its first lead at 4-2 on a Tyler Ringgold jumper with 18:36 on the clock.

With 9:52 remaining in the first half the Wave claimed its last lead of the night on a three-pointer from Middleton that put Tulane in front 19-18. The Owls answered with a 19-7 scoring run to put Tulane down by double digits before ultimately hitting the half with the Green Wave trailing 32-40.

The second half favored Temple as the Owls connected at a 60.7 percent clip from the field after halftime. Tulane was unable to keep up with the hot shooting of the Owls eventually trailing by as many as 34 points with five minutes remaining. The Green Wave ultimately went on to fall 60-89.

Next, the Wave will return home to host Memphis for Senior Day in Uptown on Sunday, March 8. Tipoff between Tulane and the Tigers is scheduled for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
