Green Wave Heads East for Chanticleer Challenge

CONWAY, S.C. – Tulane leaves Louisiana for the first time this season, traveling to the Palmetto State for the Chanticleer Challenge hosted by Coastal Carolina at the Coastal Carolina Beach Volleyball Complex. The Green Wave will compete in four duals this weekend, entering the event with a 5-4 record on the campaign.

The field is stacked as two of the five teams are ranked with two more receiving votes. Cal Poly enters the weekend at No. 4 in the nation with Florida Atlantic ranked No. 15. Tulane and Georgia State are both receiving votes, and the Panthers were in the poll at No. 19 last week before dropping out in the latest edition.

Action begins tomorrow morning with the Wave battling No. 15 Florida Atlantic at 7:00 a.m. CT. The Wave will then face Georgia State at 1:00 p.m. CT. Tulane will open Saturday's slate with its toughest challenge thus far on the season, facing No. 4 Cal Poly at 7:00 a.m. CT. This will be the first top-five foe for Tulane this season. The Wave remains on the sand to play the host Chanticleers immediately after at 11:00 a.m. CT.

Tulane has been led this season by the second flight of Molly Trodd and Skylar Ensign, who are 7-2 to this point. The tandem enters the weekend on a five-match winning streak. Avery Burks and Gigi Gallegos also enter the weekend hot as winners of their last four matches after an undefeated showing last week in the Tiger Beach Challenge.

The Green Wave will return home next weekend to host the Bayou Beach Duals at White Sands Volleyball Courts. The two-day tournament will take place on Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14.
