Tulane Hosts NOLA Classic to Conclude Regular Season
Apr 16, 2026 | Women's Beach Volleyball
ELMWOOD, La. – The Tulane beach volleyball team returns home to White Sands Volleyball Courts this weekend to host the NOLA Classic and its senior day festivities to put a bow on the 2026 regular season. The two-day event kicks off tomorrow morning as Tulane will play three times before hitting the sand twice more on Saturday. The Green Wave is receiving votes yet again in this week's AVCA coaches poll, and the team sports a 19-11 record and boasts a six-dual win streak at home.
Â
Joining Tulane at White Sands this weekend are #20 Arizona, Louisiana Monroe (ULM), New Orleans (UNO), Florida International (FIU), and Southern Miss. This weekend will mark the second meeting for Tulane against three of the foes: ULM, UNO, and Southern Miss. The Green Wave won the first contest against each of them this season. Adding to the competitiveness of the field, the No. 20 Wildcats will be the eighth ranked match-up for the Wave this season, and FIU is the sixth Conference USA match-up on the docket.
Â
History will be made on Friday, as for the first time ever Tulane will stream a pair of duals on ESPN+. The Friday slate opens against Arizona at 8:30 a.m. as the first of three contests on the day. The following two that afternoon will stream on ESPN+. At 1:30 p.m. the Wave will take on ULM, with an intra-city showdown against UNO following at 4:00 p.m. The contest against the Warhawks is available here, and the dual against the Privateers can be seen here.
Â
Saturday's slate begins with senior day festivities at 8:00 a.m. Tulane will honor its six seniors prior to the start of competition: Amirah Ali, McKenzie Cutler, Emma Morris, Sam O'Connor, Molly Trodd, and Giorgia Walther. Tulane will take on FIU at 8:30 a.m. following senior day, and the weekend concludes with a bout against Southern Miss at 1:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to show up early to support Tulane's seniors for senior day, and there will be a flip flops giveaway for attendees on Saturday.
Â
In addition to streaming on ESPN+ for the first time ever, live stats for all duals this weekend will be available on Volleyball Life here.
Â
Skylar Ensign and Trodd continue to pace the team with a record of 23-7 between the top two flights. They are 11-3 since assuming No. 1 duties. Morris and Katie Hansen are 19-11 together this season between the top two flights, going 10-6 at No. 1 and 9-5 at No. 2. Ali is tied with Hansen and Morris for the second-most individual wins on the team this season with 19. She has paired with multiple people thus far, but her most frequent partner is Tawny Ensign. Together, the tandem are 14-6 at the third flight.
Â
Tulane went 3-1 last weekend at the Blazer Beach Bash, hosted by conference foe UAB. The Wave's lone loss was a tight 3-2 thriller to the Blazers, but Tulane took care of business with a trio of 5-0 sweeps over Houston Christian, Mercer, and ULM.
Â
Next up for Tulane is the Conference USA Championship in Youngsville, Louisiana. The tournament begins on Thursday, April 23, and runs through Saturday, April 25, when a champion will be crowned. Tulane has advanced to the championship dual in each of the last two seasons, finishing as the runner-up both times. The Wave will enter this year's edition of the tournament ready to break through.
