Apr 19, 2026 | Women's Beach Volleyball
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University's Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair David Harris has extended the contract of head coach Eyal Zimet through the 2029-30 academic year, the department announced on Sunday, April 19. Zimet, who is finishing his seventh season in Uptown, has been instrumental in elevating the program to national prominence with a series of record-breaking seasons.
Â
Under Zimet's guidance, Tulane has achieved remarkable success, amassing 155 victories. The Olive and Blue set program records for wins in each of the last two seasons, consistently earning recognition in the national rankings. The Green Wave amassed five ranked wins in 2025, a conference tournament final appearance, and multiple all-conference awards. His leadership was also recognized when he was named Conference USA Coach of the Year in 2024.
Â
"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity and trust shown by David Harris and (Deputy AD for External Operations and Beach Volleyball Sport Administrator) Jana Woodson to continue this incredible journey with Tulane," said Zimet. "Our program has demonstrated tremendous and multi-faceted growth over the years, and I look forward to maintaining our positive momentum by competing at the highest level and helping our student-athletes achieve their goals both on and off the sand. Roll Wave!!"
Â
Since arriving at Tulane in 2019, Zimet has brought a wealth of coaching experience and international playing success, including representing the Israeli National Team for nine years and competing professionally in the AVP Tour. His background also includes coaching stints at Dartmouth College and the University of San Francisco, as well as guiding the Panamanian National Beach Volleyball Team to a silver medal in the FIVB Olympic Qualifier.
Â
"Eyal has done an outstanding job transforming our beach volleyball program into a national contender," Harris said. "His dedication, experience, and leadership have been evident every step of the way. We are excited to see what the future holds with Eyal continuing to lead our program."
Â
Tulane is 22-13 in 2026 and will enter the Conference USA Championship this week in Youngsville, Louisiana. The Green Wave is the No. 5 seed and will open against No. 4 seed South Florida at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23.
