Wave Finishes Seventh in ICSA Open Team Race National Championship

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing placed seventh out of 16 teams in the 2026 ICSA Open Team Race National Championship on Lake Pontchartrain. The Green Wave finished with an 11-11 record to notch its best finish in the team race championship since becoming a varsity sport in 2018.

The Wave was led in the regatta by skippers Kelly Holthus, Christian Ebbin, Hamilton Barclay, and Tate Christopher. The Tulane skippers were paired with the following crews across the 22 completed races in the championship for the team:
-Skipper: Holthus | Crew: Jonah Wozniak
-Skipper: Ebbin | Crew: Sabrina Anderson
-Skipper: Barclay | Crew: Taylor Bartell
-Skipper: Christopher | Crew: Hope Breslin

In the opening round of the championship regatta the Green Wave posted an 8-7 record across Thursday and Friday. Tulane earned victories over Roger Williams, College of Charleston, Navy, Boston College, Dartmouth, Hobart & William, Coast Guard, and Northwestern to advance in the top eight for the second round.

Action in the round two top eight continued on Friday afternoon as Tulane recorded a 3-4 mark in the round. The Green Wave picked up wins over Stanford, Navy, and Georgetown in the round but unfortunately were unable to advance to the final four of the regatta ultimately finishing seventh.

Up next, the Green Wave will begin competition in the ICSA Women's Team Race National Championship on Lake Pontchartrain. The women's championship action will run from Saturday to Sunday, April 25-26.
