Football’s Jackson Courville Named to the 2026 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List

ATLANTA – Tulane redshirt junior Jackson Courville was recently named to the 2026 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List by the Wuerffel Foundation.
The award recognizes college football players from across the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) who exemplify community service, academic excellence and athletic achievement. Courville is one of only 113 players named as nominees this season.
Courville is in his first year at Tulane after being a member of the Ohio State football team last season where he went 4-for-4 on extra points and had four touchbacks in as many kickoff attempts. He began his career and spent the first two years of his collegiate career at Ball State where went 26-for-34 on field goals with a long of 52 plus 54-56 on extra point attempts. He also was a College Sports Communicators Academic All-America nominee and Academic All-MAC in 2024.
Widely regarded as college football's premier award for community service, the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy celebrates student-athletes who use their platforms to serve others and create positive change. Named after 1996 Heisman Trophy winner and University of Florida quarterback Danny Wuerffel, who turned his football success into a lifelong mission of service, the award reflects his legacy of leadership and humanitarianism. The year marks the 21st anniversary of the trophy.
"It's an honor to recognize these student-athletes for the difference they are making in the lives of others," Wuerffel said. "Their commitment to service demonstrates the powerful impact college athletes can have both on and off the field."
For the third consecutive year, the Wuerffel Foundation is partnering with Allstate to unite college football's top community service honors through the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team ®. Eleven student-athletes from the Watch List will be named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and serve as semifinalists for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy.
The 2026 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Finalists and recipients will be selected by a national voting committee, with input from a fan vote. The 2026 recipient will also serve as Captain of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards show on December 11th, airing on ESPN.
The 2026 recipient and finalists will be invited to join Wuerffel in New York City for the Heisman Trophy events, including the Wuerffel Foundation PickleBowl: Heisman Edition
The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Presentation Gala will follow on February 2027 at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.

The Green Wave finished the 2025 season ranked No. 18 in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches Polls. This marked only the second time in four seasons, the third since 1998, and the fourth since 1970 that the program has finished a season nationally ranked.
Tulane won the American Conference Championship, securing its second conference title in four years. With an 11-3 record, it earned its first-ever playoff appearance in school history against Ole Miss. Notably, Tulane became the first team from Louisiana to make the College Football Playoff (CFP) in the 12-team format, qualifying as the fourth-highest ranked conference champion.
